Job summary

Polsinelli PC is hiring a Security Engineer to ensure secure operations of hybrid on‑premise and cloud environments across the firm. You will install, maintain, and improve security across infrastructure, platforms and SaaS, developing designs and strategies in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

The role requires 2–4 years in on‑premises security, hands‑on security engineering, SIEM/log analytics and working with Active Directory/Azure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/CE/IS.
• 2–4 years of experience in on-premises environments focused on security.
• 2–4 years of experience in security engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience with Metrics, Events, Logging in a Splunk-like environment.
• Microsoft Active Directory with Azure experience.
• Ability to perform detection engineering to interrogate computer logs for anomalous behavior.
• Develop workflows within a SIEM to automate detections and actions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Python and PowerShell.
• Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise-grade security solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Configure secure operating environments using CIS best practices.
• Perform penetration testing and threat hunting.
• Monitor and respond to incidents in the Firm's hybrid environment.
• Keep infrastructure current; recommend and implement security tech improvements.
• Develop programs, scripts, tests, and infrastructure automation.
• Collaborate with analysts and engineers to improve cyber resilience.
• Support system architecture alignment with security frameworks (CIS, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST).
• Mature enterprise architecture to align security with operations and assets.
• Propose secure design alternatives considering security, functionality, and cost.
• Plan and monitor overall security of network systems.
• Configure and implement network security tools.
• Test and provide solutions for security weaknesses and threats.
• Research and adopt new security technologies and processes.
• Audit existing configurations and implement improvements.
