Job Description

As a Security Engineer in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you'll contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping create solutions that impact patients and communities positively.

As a member of the Information Security Risk Management architecture team, the Security Engineer plays a crucial role in shaping and guiding the organization's security strategy, architecture, and practices, focusing on security posture and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement security controls and solutions that enhance AbbVie's security hygiene. Ensure security measures are integrated into IT systems and applications.
• Collaborate with IT, network, and other relevant departments to align security measures with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
• Partner with platform and application teams to establish clear security baseline requirements, following CIS 18 controls, ensuring security best practices are integrated into development and deployment processes.
• Utilize enterprise tools for vulnerability management, asset inventory, and cyber hygiene to meet security baseline requirements.
• Develop custom integrations using APIs or scripting for high-risk applications to enable proactive security monitoring.
• Lead posture and hygiene initiatives, coordinating resources, setting objectives, and ensuring focus on security improvements.
• Manage documentation such as baselines, SOPs, policies, and work instructions, ensuring they are accurate, current, and compliant with organizational standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with at least 4 years of experience.
• Deep understanding of CIS Critical Security Controls, specifically CIS 18.
• Strong knowledge of configuring Windows Servers, Desktops, and RedHat Linux.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risks and propose solutions.
• Collaborative skills to work effectively with IT stakeholders.
• Understanding of and adherence to corporate standards and policies, including safety, GxP, data security, and SDLC.
