Job summary

Vertex Ridge Group in Albuquerque, NM is hiring a Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust security measures for critical systems and data. You will work with the IT team to identify risks, mitigate vulnerabilities, and respond to incidents in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, hands-on security expertise, and the ability to align security with the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Security Engineer or in a similar role, with a track record of success in implementing and maintaining security measures.
• In-depth knowledge of security best practices, including risk assessment, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Strong technical skills in network security, cryptography, and secure coding.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security measures to protect Vertex Ridge Group's systems and data.
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and address potential risks.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, and work with our IT team to investigate and resolve security breaches.
• Develop and maintain security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with our development team to integrate security best practices into our software development lifecycle.
• Provide security training and awareness programs to our employees to promote a culture of security.
