Job summary

Vast.ai in Los Angeles is seeking a skilled Security Engineer to join our team and help safeguard our GPU cloud platform.

You will design secure architectures, perform security assessments, and collaborate with operations and engineering to raise our security posture across cloud workloads.

Proficiency in Linux, containerization, security testing tools, and cloud security is essential, as is the ability to communicate risk clearly and drive improvements with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Strong programming in Python or C.
• Extensive knowledge of Linux kernel internals, containerization, and virtualization.
• Deep understanding of workload and network isolation in multi-tenant environments.
• Experience securing and hardening cloud infrastructure with untrusted workloads.
• Strong background in network, application, and cloud-native security.
• Experience with security testing tools and methodologies (OWASP, Burp Suite, static/dynamic analysis).
• Familiarity with SOC 2, NIST, and CIS Controls.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations Team: ensure SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
• Secure Architecture Design: develop secure architectures for GPU cloud platform.
• Security Assessments: conduct assessments, threat modeling, code reviews, and penetration testing.
• Security Improvements: develop and implement fixes with engineering teams.
• Security Tools Management: implement and manage SIEM, WAF, and EDR.
• Documentation: create and maintain security documentation.
• Security Training: provide security guidance to engineering teams.
• Incident Response: participate in incident response activities and post-incident analysis.
