Project Kuiper aims to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

Description

Have you wanted an opportunity to secure an advanced satellite-based broadband telecom service? The Kuiper Security team owns the security of product and operations of Project Kuiper end-to-end. We ensure the security of our satellite constellation and protect customer data. Our team develops and deploys mission-critical security systems and mechanisms. You will work in a start-up-like environment, backed by Amazon’s infrastructure, to establish security mechanisms and foster a security culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish product-specific security standards, threat models, and priorities.
• Identify design and implementation defects and support product development with security guidance.
• Collaborate with business leaders to define and support security priorities.
• Assess technical debt and risks, propose strategic security directions.
• Promote secure-by-default solutions and develop or propose new security tools and mechanisms.
• Enable teams to be proactive on security, using appropriate tools and fostering a security-aware culture.
• Assist Red Teams in security testing and incident analysis.
• Propose a comprehensive security vision to protect our customers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years experience in security software development in a production environment.
• 3+ years experience with distributed software systems in Python, Java, Rust, GoLang, or C/C++.
• 3+ years experience in cloud-native environments.
• 3+ years experience developing for Linux.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with security assessments, security tools development, and embedded systems.
• Master's degree in information security.
• Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making.
• Experience with satellite communications and management software.
