Job summary

Cala Health, Inc. seeks a Security Engineer to join our cybersecurity team and safeguard our digital assets, infrastructure, and applications. You will identify vulnerabilities, manage risks, orchestrate incident responses, and foster security awareness across engineering.

The ideal candidate blends hands-on defense with strategic thinking, guiding dependency scanning, risk assessments, and tabletop simulations. This full-time, exempt role offers strong compensation and impact across our growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in Security Engineering, Application Security, or Incident Response.
Hands-on with modern security tooling (Snyk, Dependabot, Burp Suite, Splunk, Datadog).
Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10, CWE, and cloud security best practices.
CI/CD pipelines and build automation tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting to automate security workflows.

Responsibilities

Monitor and manage security dependencies and conduct risk assessments.
Lead end-to-end penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and bug bounty coordination.
Drive security remediation across infra, networks, and applications with code reviews.
Design and run regular tabletop exercises and incident response drills.
Maintain CSPM controls, security metrics, and regulatory/compliance evidence.
Mentor engineers in secure coding practices and security awareness.
