Security Engineer (Infrastructure), Public Sector

As our customer base grows, you will be instrumental in our federal AI projects, working closely with public sector clients to ensure security, compliance, and resilience of our systems.

Our Infrastructure Security Engineers design and implement secure, scalable backend systems on cloud-native AI infrastructure, focusing on high-security environments and federal compliance standards such as FedRAMP, STIG, and Cloud SRG. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet government requirements, contribute to platform roadmaps, and improve system health and security.

You will:

• Design and implement secure, scalable backend systems for Public Sector clients using modern cloud-native AI infrastructure.
• Own services or systems, define their long-term health goals, and improve related components.
• Enhance engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that meet government security requirements.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Contribute to the platform roadmap and product strategy for Scale AI’s Public Sector offerings.

Ideally you'd have:

• Active security clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI with CI Poly (mandatory).
• Experience with cloud-native technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, STIG, Cloud SRG).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to support work 3-4 days a week from the DC or STL office.
