Job summary

Google is seeking a Security Engineer in Incident Management to lead security response efforts and coordinate cross-functional teams across incident lifecycles. You will identify risks, design controls, and drive rapid resolutions with engineers, lawyers and executives.

The role emphasizes proactive defense, DFIR expertise, and on-call responsiveness to protect Google’s products and users. You will work with Security Response to monitor systems, analyze threats, and apply engineering practices

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews orthreat modeling.
• 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and networksecurity and security protocols.
• 2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with incident or emergency response coordination.
• Technical background with hands-on experience in, e.g., systemsadministration, software engineering, digital forensics, securityengineering, privacy engineering.

In Security Response, you will be a member of our global on-callresponse team and use your broad security experience and DFIR-specific domainknowledge to investigate and respond to escalations from across Alphabet.Security Response team members train and grow in broad forensic investigationand crisis management skills, but specialize in one or the other as their careergrows.

As an IM (Incident Management) specialist, you’ll use professional emergencymanagement procedures to lead teams of engineers, lawyers, executives and otherstoward fast, effective responses to any situation and quickly mitigate andresolve security incidents. You will also assist in technical assessments ofsecurity issues alongside other Security Engineers as necessary.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills,experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $147000 - $210000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
