Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking an IAM Engineer to design, implement and advance IAM services and capabilities from concept through delivery.

You will define procedures to ensure integrity and compliance and serve as SME while providing third‑level production support. You will partner with IT and security teams to build scalable IAM solutions, guide roadmap and architecture, mentor junior staff, and work with vendors on licenses and enhancements.

Qualifications

• Ten years of IT systems, processes, or capabilities experience.
• Six years IAM experience in Identity and Access Management.
• In-depth knowledge of general information security.
• In-depth knowledge of general cloud security.
• Experience with IAM services: Okta/SAML, PAM, Identity Governance or related tools.
• Experience with Java and other programming languages.
• Knowledge of O365 services.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

General Purpose

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer is responsible for envisioning and implementing IAM solutions and enhancements. The role leads initiatives on IAM services and capabilities from concept through delivery, defines procedures and protocols to ensure integrity and compliance, and acts as a liaison to other Information Security and IT functional groups. The IAM Engineer also serves as the IAM Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provides third‑level production support.

Essential Functions

• Research, evaluate, develop and implement IAM designs and standards following industry best practices.
• Ensure that current and planned technical solutions are compatible with the company’s business needs and strategic objectives.
• Work with other IT organizations to design, develop, and implement IAM solutions and enhancements in support of development, test, and production environments.
• Ensure that solutions built will ensure stability of the production environment.
• Provide technical expertise and assistance to other IT and Business groups.
• Provide technical assistance to IAM L2 Operations team as required.
• Provide technical assistance to junior staff in the design and implementation of IAM technologies.
• Provide guidance to the IAM Delivery team in accordance with strategic objectives.
• Work with IAM vendors for license requirements, issues, changes and enhancements.
• Provide input on IAM roadmap and long‑term strategies.
• Provide input on architectural decisions.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

• At least ten (10) years of experience supporting IT systems, processes, or capabilities.
• Six years of Identity and Access Management area experience.
• In‑depth knowledge of general information security.
• In‑depth knowledge of general cloud security.
• In‑depth knowledge of at least three of the following services: Access Management (Okta-preferred, SAML, Reverse Proxy, OAUTH), Privileged Access Management (CyberArk-preferred), Identity Governance services (Saviynt-preferred, LDAP, Unix, DB), Oloid Passwordless Authentication.
• Strong knowledge of the current IAM space and a self-driven desire to research current information on the security landscape.
• Experience with Java and other programming languages.
• Knowledge of O365 services.
• Conceptual and practical understanding of IT infrastructure designs, technologies, products, and services.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Physical Requirements/Ada

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
