Amazon Security is seeking a Security Engineer to collaborate with software teams, inspect code for security issues, and develop frameworks to help speed secure development. You will influence security across critical Ring 0 applications and communicate risk to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar OO language.
• Bachelor's degree in STEM or IT security experience.
• Knowledge of HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP networking.
• Understanding of common security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
• Experience troubleshooting, log analysis or automation via command line tools.
• Ability to explain complex risks to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive implementation of proactive security controls for Ring 0 applications.
• Evaluate and implement security controls so Ring 0 developers build secure apps by default.
• Assess and mitigate security risks.
• Build and drive adoption of security tooling (threat modeling, code scanning, security test generation) across AppSec.
• Promote security guardrails, testing frameworks, and monitoring across Ring 0 apps.
• Collaborate with Ring 0 teams to integrate security guidance into workflows.
• Develop and maintain security documentation including threat models and risk assessments.
• Support security incident investigations related to Ring 0 systems.
• Perform manual and automated secure code review (Java, Python, JavaScript).
• Identify and mitigate security issues at scale.
• Conduct adversarial security analysis.
• Provide security guidance to internal teams and leaders.
• Independently solve complex security problems.
