Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Security Engineer to join the Infrastructure Identity Security Team. You will develop, assess, and mitigate security risks across AWS global infrastructure, collaborating with dev teams to implement secure systems and automation.

You will lead remediation efforts, drive monitoring capabilities, and mentor junior staff while shaping the future of network security. The role demands data-driven risk assessments and strong collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the development, assessment, and analysis of security outcomes for AWS Infrastructure Identity Team.
• Support the development teams as security subject matter expert for the Infrastructure Identity organization.
• Identify and drive mitigation of security risks through formal, deep dive assessment activities.
• Lead in remediation and mitigation techniques, including monitoring and reporting capabilities.
• Shape the future in network security through automation.
• Continuously assess the effectiveness of network security controls and processes.
• Work with software engineers to deliver tools for Identity customers.
• Codify security of traffic flows and maintain them through assessments.
• Deliver empirical solutions for programs crossing organizational boundaries.
• Research and optimize new and existing network security architectures.
• Mentor junior staff and participate in interviewing as SME on network security.
