Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Security Engineer to join Information Security and protect the SpaceX mission. The role writes and operates the software and infrastructure behind SpaceX security standards across the enterprise.

You will design, build, and maintain security technology, implement MFA and identity services, secure cloud and on-prem environments, and collaborate with IT, HR, legal, and software teams. This position is onsite in Texas and requires ITAR readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or STEM, or 2+ years in security software development.
• Experience with Python, Go, C#, C/C++, or Rust.
• Experience designing security solutions for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain security tech protecting SpaceX systems, networks, and data.
• Stand up MFA and identity services, and manage network access controls.
• Automate identity lifecycle for InfoSec and partners.
• Operate backend infrastructure for network security services.
• Manage web application firewalls and app-level security controls.
• Enforce cloud security policy with centralized config and monitoring.
• Document what you run and advise teams.
• Identify threats and ship software changes to reduce risk.
• Deliver scalable, repeatable, and secure solutions.
• Coordinate with security, IT, HR, legal, software, and partners.
