Job summary

Columbia Bank New Jersey is seeking a Security Engineer to lead day-to-day security operations, maintain controls, detect threats, and coordinate incident response. You will support cyber incident response, guide operators, and ensure process execution across risk areas.

The role emphasizes threat and vulnerability management, asset risk ratings, and engineering in security architecture, IAM, and network security. Hybrid schedule applies, with focus on collaboration.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in information technology, information security, risk, or similar field.
• 3+ years of experience in an information security role.
• 1+ years of engineering experience.
• Relevant industry certifications and/or advanced degrees may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Knowledge of multiple security practice areas including security architecture, IAM, asset management, vulnerability management, threat detection and response, endpoint security, network security, cloud security, web security, data security, application security, threat intelligence, configuration management.
• Performs ongoing analysis of security events, incident alerts, and health status from security tools.

Responsibilities

• Executes, enhances, and documents security operations processes.
• Aids in assessing security processes, platforms, and practices to identify improvement areas.
• Supports incident response by reviewing events, investigating, and driving resolution.
• Collaborates with technology and business teams as appropriate.
• Performs ongoing security platform maintenance including health monitoring and upgrades.
• Assists in implementing new security solutions and coordinates with resources.
• Develops reports, alerts, dashboards, and metrics from security data.
• Drives action plans to completion using analytical outputs.
• Assists in managing small to medium projects per project schedules.
• Stays current on industry developments and commits to ongoing education in information/cyber security.
