Job summary

Amazon in Arlington, VA is seeking a Security Engineer I to scrutinize third-party tools and AI/ML integrations, automate safeguards, and embed security decisions into scalable tooling. You will analyze data flows, assess risk, and partner with builders, legal, and privacy stakeholders to protect customer trust across vendor engagements.

The role requires hands-on security testing, threat modeling, and strong communication skills to drive timely remediation and policy improvements.

Qualifications

2+ years of web protocols, common security attacks, and remediation experience.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and exploits.
Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings.

Responsibilities

Perform technical security reviews of third-party services, including AI/ML integrations and cloud architectures, identifying gaps and mitigations.
Trace data flows, threat model third-party use cases, and evaluate vendor tests to surface risks and remediation.
Contribute to AI-powered security tooling and automation to scale review decisions.
Communicate risks and recommendations to service teams and leadership, escalating as needed.
Author and refine security rubrics and patterns for future engineers.
