Job summary

Vast.ai is seeking a Security Engineer to strengthen our GPU cloud platform. You will design secure architectures, perform threat modeling, and lead incident response efforts for a fast-growing AI cloud service.

Ideal candidates bring Linux, containerization, and cloud-security expertise, plus hands-on experience with security testing tools and collaborative, cross-team communication. On-site role in Los Angeles.”

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Strong programming in Python or C.
• Extensive knowledge of Linux kernel internals, containers, and virtualization.
• Deep understanding of workload and network isolation in multi-tenant environments.
• Experience securing cloud infrastructure, especially untrusted workloads.
• Background in network, application, and cloud-native security.
• Experience with security testing tools (OWASP, Burp Suite, static/dynamic analysis).
• Familiarity with SOC 2, NIST, CIS Controls.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations to ensure SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR compliance.
• Design secure architectures for GPU cloud platform
• Conduct security assessments, threat modeling, code reviews, and pen testing
• Develop and implement security fixes with engineering teams
• Implement and manage security tools (SIEM, WAF, EDR)
• Create and maintain security documentation
• Provide security training to engineers
• Participate in incident response and post-incident analysis
