Job summary

The Fayette Chamber of Commerce in Atlanta is seeking an experienced security engineer to implement and maintain container vulnerability management and reporting. You will contribute to building cybersecurity capabilities across the software development lifecycle and lead small projects with manageable risk.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in security engineering, strong threat modeling and penetration testing skills, and proficiency with scripting (Python/JavaScript/Terraform).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in security engineering or related cybersecurity roles.
  • Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Proven experience in software development lifecycle security practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing.
  • Experience implementing and managing complex information security technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and implement scanning tools to identify vulnerabilities in Container images and running containers.
  • Analyze vulnerabilities and assist development teams to understand and address vulnerability remediation.
  • Write scripts (Python, JavaScript, Terraform, etc.) to assist in automation of business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain the technical IT/cyber capabilities including all phases of the software development lifecycle and software stack.
  • Participate in designing, planning, enhancing, and testing all cybersecurity technologies used throughout the enterprise including base-lining current systems, trend analysis, and capacity planning as required for future systems requirements and new technologies.
  • Participate in the analysis of information to determine, recommend, and plan the use of new technologies or modifications to existing equipment and systems.
  • Participate in the implementation of new information security technologies or integration of existing technologies including initial configuration, installation, change management, and operational handoff.
  • Take a new perspective on existing solutions to solve complex problems and exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Lead small cybersecurity projects with manageable risks and resource requirements; plays significant roles in larger, more complex initiatives.

This role is 5 days a week in the Atlanta office

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining Container vulnerability identification, management, and reporting.
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining the technical IT/cyber security capabilities necessary for safeguarding the firm's information systems and applications (software development lifecycle), including every phase of the SDLC and software stack.
  • Assist in the designing, planning, testing and implementation phases of cybersecurity technology projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in security engineering or related cybersecurity roles.

  • Advanced knowledge of threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing.
  • Experience implementing and managing complex information security technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and six years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Banking or financial services experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with containerized applications and base operating systems (OS)
  • Scripting and automation experience (i.e., Python, JavaScript, Terraform)
