Job summary

Horizon National LLC in El Paso, TX is seeking a Security Engineer to design, implement, and monitor our security infrastructure. The role involves vulnerability assessments, incident response, and ensuring regulatory compliance while collaborating with the IT team to protect systems.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3–5 years of security engineering experience, with strong knowledge of network security and cryptography.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a security engineering role with knowledge of network security, cryptography and protocols.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection).
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify risks.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents with IT team coordination.
• Develop and enforce security policies to meet industry standards and regulations.
• Provide security awareness training to employees to promote secure culture.
• Stay updated on security trends and best practices to protect systems.
