Job summary

Bot Auto is seeking a Software Engineer, Security Engineering to build and operate security across its autonomous trucking stack, from in-vehicle systems to cloud infrastructure. You will help protect the core IP and safety‑relevant systems, working with onboard security as well as platform security teams.

You will contribute to AI risk assessments, pragmatic protections, and security automation while learning across the full stack—from vehicle to cloud.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years in software/security engineering; internships or projects welcomed.
• Foundational understanding of authentication/authorization, networking, OS, and common security vulnerabilities.
• Familiarity with Linux and cloud or distributed systems; eagerness to learn to secure production environments.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security controls for onboard systems (secure boot, code signing, secrets management, OTA updates, system hardening).
• Support security across infrastructure and platforms (Kubernetes, AWS, on‑prem data centers, CI/CD, internal platforms).
• Evaluate and implement protections for AI systems (prompt injection, data exfiltration, model supply chain, unsafe agent behavior).
• Build IAM, secrets management, and least‑privilege access for services, devices, and fleet systems.
• Participate in threat modeling, security design reviews, risk assessments with engineering teams.
• Operate vulnerability management, dependency and supply-chain scanning, SSDLC tooling.
• Contribute to security detection, logging, monitoring, and incident response across onboard and infra.
• Improve security through automation, documentation, collaboration with engineering teams.
