Impact

As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for building and operating the foundational security systems that protect True Markets' infrastructure, applications, and data. You will work closely with the CISO, Systems Engineering, and Development teams to design policies, monitor security events, respond to incidents, and support a secure SDLC. Your contributions will directly enable our business to meet high standards of trust, compliance, and operational resilience.

Responsibilities

Core Security Operations

Security Monitoring & SIEM:

• Design, deploy, and operate a centralized security event logging pipeline (e.g. Cloudflare, AWS, Linux systems, CI/CD, apps).
• Capture and normalize security events from all relevant systems.
• Store security telemetry in a data warehouse and/or long-term log storage.
• Deploy and operate a SIEM platform to detect, correlate, and alert on security-relevant events.

EDR Support & Operation:

• Lead implementation and operation of Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) tooling across laptops and servers.
• Monitor EDR telemetry and triage alerts.
• Work with vendors or MDR providers if outsourced.
• Build and maintain an incident response plan.
• Drive incident investigations and post-incident reviews.
• Develop automated alerting and initial response playbooks where possible.

Security Architecture & Policy

Policy Design & Enforcement:

• Design and implement security policies for the company, covering endpoints, servers, cloud resources, and developer workflows.
• Develop and enforce data protection and encryption standards.
• Define secure onboarding/offboarding processes for employees and vendors.
• Support SOC2, ISO 27001, and other compliance initiatives.

Secure SDLC & DevSecOps:

• Integrate security checks and static/dynamic scanning into the SDLC.
• Provide guidance and tooling to help development teams build secure systems.
• Perform regular vulnerability scans and manage remediation.

Security Awareness:

• Develop and deliver employee security training.
• Drive continuous improvement of security posture across the organization.
• Stay current with threat intelligence and evolving best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Security monitoring and SIEM architecture/operations experience.
• Experience implementing and managing EDR at small/mid scale.
• Deep understanding of security vulnerabilities and hardening techniques.
• Experience designing and enforcing security policies.
• Familiarity with incident response workflows.
• Understanding of compliance requirements (SOC2, ISO27001, PCI, etc).
• Familiarity with security aspects of CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.

Ideal Qualifications

• Experience with open-source SIEM platforms (ELK stack, Wazuh, Graylog) or commercial (SumoLogic, Panther, Splunk, etc).
• Experience with EDR vendors (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Huntress, etc).
• Programming or scripting skills (Python, Go, Bash).
• Familiarity with cloud-native security tooling (AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, CloudTrail analysis).
