Piper Companies is seeking a Security engineer who can monitor and analyze cloud initiatives and security protocols. The security engineer will be remote based in RTP, NC.

Requirements for the Security Engineer include:

• Contribute to the deployment and upkeep of essential systems, ensuring high availability and resilience across security operations.
• Evaluate current environments to identify areas for improvement, recommend process optimizations, and assist in developing new operational procedures
• Conduct regular audits to enforce security standards and ensure compliance with industry practices
• Serve as an escalation point for SOC analysts, offering guidance during investigations and fostering skill development through mentorship
• Help integrate and manage security tools, and engage with emerging technologies through hands-on experimentation and pilot testing
  
  

Qualifications for the Security Engineer include:

• Hands-on experience with cloud security posture management and familiarity with AWS and Azure
• Strong understanding of Windows and Linux servers
• Understand services like lambda, IAM, ECR and others
• Proficiency with infrastructure automation tools such as terraform and ansible
• Proficiency with containerization tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Git-based control
• Knowledge of scripting tools such as Python
• Splunk experience
• Bachelors degree of related experience
• Must be able to hold a government security clearance
  
  

Compensation for the Security Engineer includes:

• Hourly rate: $40 - $50hr
• Comprehensive benefit package: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k match plus PTO, Sick leave as required by law, and Paid Holidays
