Overview

The Security Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, and managing security tools to secure, log, and monitor network traffic and access to systems and applications to prevent data loss. The role requires research, testing, and implementation of security solutions aligned with industry and organizational best practices and compliance initiatives. The candidate should have strong knowledge and experience with risk analysis, network scanning, security configuration testing, and vulnerability assessments.

Responsibilities

  1. Install, configure, and manage security tools such as firewalls, endpoint protection, monitoring systems, email security, privileged account management, and network access controls.
  2. Contribute to security project plans, coordinate with vendors and teams, conduct tests, execute implementation plans, and track progress.
  3. Collaborate across departments to enhance Children's Mercy's security posture.
  4. Provide advanced support and troubleshooting for escalated security issues.
  5. Establish secure VPN and remote support capabilities for internal staff and vendors.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 5-7 years' experience.

Starting Pay

The pay range begins at $39.59/hr, with offers based on education and experience.

Remote Work

This position is entirely remote or work-from-home, with the requirement to live in the Kansas City metro area and attend on-site meetings as scheduled.
