Job Description

Responsible for controlling and overseeing vehicular traffic on Convention Center freight docks, service roads, and temporary staging areas. Also tasked with executing freight dock plans of the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), ensuring efficient and effective implementation under the supervision of the Sr. Security Rep or Assistant Security Supervisor. Performance is reviewed through conferences, reports, and results achieved.

  • Executes dock plans under the supervision of the assigned Sr. Security Rep or Assistant Security Supervisor.
  • Assists contract freight companies in controlling the movement of freight vehicles during move‑in and move‑out operations in coordination with Event Managers and/or Event Security Liaisons.
  • Responsible for rolling dock doors during move‑in/out activity.
  • Coordinates with Security Representatives for opening/closing freight doors after hours.
  • Patrols freight dock areas to enforce parking regulations.
  • Enforces speed regulations in and around the loading dock basin, perimeter roads, and parking lot areas.
  • Patrols designated temporary truck staging areas to ensure trucks are in their proper locations.
  • Conducts regular tours of assigned areas, listing all irregularities observed.
  • Monitors adherence to contract agreements regarding cleanliness of loading dock areas when the show moves out, in coordination with Event Managers and/or Event Security Liaisons.
  • Ensures and enforces compliance with fire protection regulations.
  • Ensures all exit areas are free and clear and fire protection equipment is readily accessible.
  • Enforces safety workplace policies and regulations.
  • Assists in placing staging lines using traffic control devices.
  • Operates county vehicles and golf carts.
  • Lifts and carries heavy traffic devices and related items.
  • Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Salary Information

Pay Grade: 406 – $16.41 to $17.15 per hour.

Educational Requirements

Degrees or diplomas must be accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. International credentials must be evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services or the Association of International Credential Evaluations at the applicant’s expense.
