We are seeking a Security Engineer who specializes in designing and implementing new systems and tools to enhance the security of Meta’s products and infrastructure. This role is ideal for individuals with deep security domain expertise who are passionate about building solutions and using AI to address evolving security requirements and use cases.Security Detection Engineer, Insider Trust Responsibilities:Design, prototype, and implement AI-driven security systems and tools to protect Meta’s products and internal infrastructureDevelop and maintain security-focused code, libraries, and frameworks for use by Security Engineers, Analysts, and engineering teamsCollaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable security solutions aligned with company objectivesRapidly experiment with and iterate on specialized security technologies, leveraging AI to address emerging threats and requirementsApply deep security expertise to solve complex challenges, mitigate risks, and mentor other engineers in advanced security domainsMinimum Qualifications:B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience in designing and implementing security systems, tools, or frameworksKnowledge of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK framework)Proficiency in coding with experience in languages such as Python, C/C++, Go, or equivalentExperience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to rapidly prototype and iterate on security solutionsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in Detection and Response Engineering, or similar Security Engineering roleUnderstanding of insider threat concepts, behavioral/complex threat detection techniques and technologiesExperience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Experience in technical security investigations and threat hunting including leveraging intelligence data to proactively identify and investigate suspicious behavior across networks and systemsDemonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesExperience with log analysis, and building complex automations and integrations using Security Information and Event Management(SIEM) or Security Orchestration, Automation and Response(SOAR) platformsExperience analyzing network, application, and host-based security eventsBackground in security-focused software engineering, and designing scalable systems and data pipelines used to detect and respond to insider threatsDemonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)About Meta:Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
