Our client, a leader in the cybersecurity industry, is seeking a Security Detection Engineer to join their team. As a Security Detection Engineer, you will be part of the Security Operations team supporting critical security initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills to succeed in this role.

What’s the Job?

1. Design, implement, and maintain advanced threat detection systems, including IDS/IPS and SIEM.
2. Monitor security alerts and logs to identify malicious activity or vulnerabilities.
3. Collaborate with the Incident Response team to analyze incidents and develop mitigation strategies.
4. Research emerging threats and incorporate intelligence feeds into detection systems.
5. Document security threats, incidents, and responses clearly.

What’s Needed?

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and cybersecurity principles.
3. Experience with security tools like SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
4. Knowledge of attack vectors and defense mechanisms.
5. Ability to analyze logs, network traffic, and system activity for threats.
