Job description

Security Detail Leader (SDL) (P)
Responsibilities:

1. Perform close-in protection of the protectee(s), ensuring the safety of the protectee and other assigned protectees during movements and venue visits.
   
2. Coordinate initial mission planning, including coordination with the TOC/SOC, and other RSO personnel to assign and schedule route and site surveys.
   
3. Finalize details with the protectee regarding number of passengers, number of venues to be visited, venue-specific information, and any special needs (e.g., split-site visits, special security requirements, etc.)
   
4. Prepare and give pre-mission briefings for protectees prior to movement, addressing destination, planned routes, estimated duration, guidance in the event of an incident (e.g., breakdown, illness/injury, hostile contract, etc.), and critical medical information/concerns for the protectees.
   
5. In command of the limo during motorcade operations. While overall tactical command of the motorcade is left to the SL, the SDL has override authority in the event of an incident where action must be taken to preserve/evacuate the protectee(s).
   

Qualifications:

For bio approval, the SDL shall meet the following qualifications:

1. Must be a U.S. citizen.
   
2. Must possess a minimum of six (6) years' experience in protective security assignments.
   

1. A minimum of two (2) years of this experience must have been as a Shift Leader working in protective security on WPS III and/or any of its predecessor contracts.
   
2. The remaining four (4) years of experience may be gained in the employ of any national, state, provincial, local, or commercial entities providing armed protective services that require skills similar to those identified in the PSS training course as outlined in WPS III IDIQ, Attachment 2, Training. This experience must be earned in locations with significant risk.
   

1. Must attend and successfully complete a supervisory course meeting the requirements established in WPS III IDIQ, Attachment 1, Position Descriptions, Section 1.2.C.
   

Upon bio approval and before beginning work on the contract, the SDL shall:

1. Attend and successfully complete the PSS training course, as outlined in WPS III IDIQ, Attachment 2, Training.
   
2. Qualify with the Glock-19, M4 or MK18 as specified by the designated TO, M240, and M249, re-qualifying as required in WPS III IDIQ, Attachment 2, Training.
   
3. Obtain and maintain a Personnel Security Clearance as specified in the TO.
   
4. Complete the WPS III Physical Readiness Test, per WPS III IDIQ, Attachment 15, Physical Readiness Test Protocols and Standards, at the sixty-five (65) percent performance level, and maintain that fitness level for the duration of his/her service on the TO.
