Koniag Data Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking Security Control Assessment Cybersecurity Engineer/Architect Lead (AI/Automation) to support KDS and our government customer in Alexandria, VA. This is a Remote opportunity.

Koniag Data Solutions (KDS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a senior-level Cybersecurity Engineer/Architect Lead specializing in Security Control Assessments (SCA) with expertise in AI/Automation. This role will lead the advancement of our security assessment capabilities through the integration of artificial intelligence and automation technologies. The position requires innovative thinking to modernize traditional SCA processes while maintaining compliance with federal security requirements.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
The Cybersecurity Engineer/Architect Lead Will
- Design and implement AI-driven security assessment frameworks
- Lead the development of automated security control testing capabilities
- Architect solutions for continuous security monitoring and assessment
- Direct the modernization of SCA processes through technology integration
- Oversee the development of automated reporting and analytics solutions
- Guide the implementation of machine learning for security control validation
- Lead technical teams in security assessment activities
- Develop innovative approaches to security control testing and validation
- Create automated workflows for assessment documentation and evidence collection
- Establish metrics and KPIs for automated assessment processes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align automation initiatives with compliance requirements
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members
- Design and implement assessment tools and methodologies
- Ensure compliance with federal security requirements while advancing automation capabilities
Education And Experience
- Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity
- 5+ years of experience in security control assessments
- 3+ years of experience implementing AI/ML solutions
- Extensive experience with federal security requirements
Required Skills And Competencies
- Expert knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls and RMF
- Strong experience with security automation tools and platforms
- Expertise in AI/ML implementation for security assessments
- Advanced knowledge of security testing methodologies
- Proficiency in programming (Python, Java, etc.)
- Experience with security orchestration and automation
- Strong understanding of federal security requirements
- Expertise in security architecture and engineering
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices
- Experience with cloud security assessments
- Strong project management abilities
- Excellence in technical writing and communication
- Leadership and team management skills
- Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
Desired Skills And Competencies
- CISSP, CISA, or equivalent certifications
- Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar ML frameworks
- Knowledge of FedRAMP assessment processes
- Expertise in CMMC requirements
- Experience with automated security testing tools
- Background in federal government contracting
- Knowledge of privacy requirements and controls
- Experience with security compliance automation
- Familiarity with blockchain security
- Public speaking and presentation skills
- Experience with security tool development
- Background in system authorization processes
- Knowledge of emerging security technologies
- Experience with large-scale assessment programs
