Job description

This internship is intended for students in their penultimate academic year, who are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Information Security, or related technical field. Google is a global company and, in order to facilitate efficient collaboration and communication globally, English proficiency is a requirement for this internship program.

Benefits for this role include:

• Sick Time: 40 hours/year (increased to 69 hours/year for Seattle) including 5 discretionary sick days per instance

Minimum qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related technical field.
• Project, lab, or coursework experience in cybersecurity fundamentals, network protocols, or investigative/incident response environments.
• Experience with programming or scripting in one or more languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, Go, Bash, or SQL).

Preferred qualifications

• Currently attending a degree program in the US and available to work full time for 12 weeks outside of university term time.
• In their penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of the internship.
• Experience in one or more security disciplines: SOC analysis, threat hunting, malware analysis, digital forensics, penetration testing, red teaming, or vulnerability research.
• Familiar with fundamentals of operating systems, including Linux, macOS, or Windows.
