As an intern in Mandiant-related security consulting, you will help build and mature information security programs for clients, evaluate needs, and communicate value of complex security solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Info Security, or related field.
• Experience in cybersecurity fundamentals, networking protocols, or incident response environments.
• Programming or scripting in Python, C/C++, Go, Bash, or SQL.

Job description

Minimum qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related technical field.
• Project, lab, or coursework experience in cybersecurity fundamentals, network protocols, or investigative/incident response environments.
• Experience with programming or scripting in one or more languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, Go, Bash, or SQL).

Preferred qualifications:

• Currently attending a degree program in the US and available to work full time for 12 weeks outside of university term time.
• In their penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of the internship.
• Experience in one or more security disciplines: SOC analysis, threat hunting, malware analysis, digital forensics, penetration testing, red teaming, or vulnerability research.
• Familiar with fundamentals of operating systems, including Linux, macOS, or Windows.

• Provide guidance on building or maturing cybersecurity programs and the implementation of tools and technologies used for enterprise security.
• Evaluate client needs, coordinate design for a solution, and clearly communicate the value proposition of complex and highly technical subjects.
• Implement or assess existing security controls.
• Interface with clients to address concerns, issues, or escalations. Track and drive to close any issues that impact the service and its value to clients.
• Engage and collaborate with client stakeholders and other groups within customer environment to drive resolution for security issues.
