Job summary

LMI is seeking a Staff Security & Compliance Engineer to build security and authorization into a U.S. Army enterprise data platform.

The role focuses on repeatable secure delivery and leading the platform’s authorization effort alongside engineers to automate controls, evidence collection, monitoring, and remediation. The candidate will work with DoD RMF/ATO processes, apply NIST controls, and secure cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, CS, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in security engineering, cloud security, DevSecOps, or federal authorization.
• Experience leading DoD RMF and ATO activities.
• Strong knowledge of NIST controls and federal cybersecurity requirements.
• Experience securing cloud-hosted/enterprise platforms.
• Automation/scripting/infra-as-code to implement controls.
• Ability to work with software, platform, and data engineers.
• Active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own security-engineering and authorization for a secure cloud data platform.
• Lead RMF and ATO activities with stakeholders.
• Translate security requirements into technical controls and engineering work.
• Automate evidence, control validation, monitoring, and reporting.
• Integrate security into infrastructure, pipelines, and platform operations.
• Partner with engineers to identify risks and remediate findings.
• Maintain authorization documentation and communicate risk to leadership.
