Job summary

You will own the entire backend infrastructure and services, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain them across on-premises and cloud environments. General Summary:

We are seeking an exceptional experienced backend engineer to architect, build, and deploy a brand-new, enterprise-grade core service dedicated to security compliance automation.

In this role you will

• Own the entire backend infrastructure and services for the automated compliance solution, and build from the ground up
• Architect, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend services supporting security compliance automation
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and observability systems, leveraging on-premises and Cloud infrastructures, implementing and maintaining best practices in infrastructure security
• Collaborate closely with IT, product management, product development, product releases, tools development, and security teams, influencing process improvement, and turning business requirements into code
• Tackle open and sometimes ambiguous problems, forging innovative new solutions along the way

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience with the full life cycle of backend software development and deployment of critical production services, ideally written in Go, Python Rust, or Java
• Familiarity with DevOps paradigms and hands-on experience in containerization/Docker, orchestration/Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code/Terraform
• Familiarity and hands-on experience with on-premises and Cloud computing. Expertise in a Cloud platform, ideally AWS or GCP, and declarative deployment practices
• Ability to work independently as well as in a cross-functional environment, with strong verbal and written communication skills (necessary for a globally distributed team)
• Ability to understand complex systems and situations, abstract, and build elegant yet effective solutions
• Working knowledge of the Cyber Resilience Act and the associated compliance requirements
• Experience working with or within a product security team is highly desired and a strong plus
• Fluency in agentic prompt and loop design is a strong plus

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$141,300.00 - $211,900.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
