Job summary

The Clearing is seeking a Visual Consultant to join our Washington, DC–area team. You’ll produce high-quality visual deliverables—infographics, branding assets, presentations—and collaborate with clients and internal designers to turn complex data into clear, impactful visuals.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in graphic design or visual communications, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and a portfolio that demonstrates strong typography, accessibility, and human-centered design. A U.S.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance preferred or obtainable.
• 4+ years of experience in graphic design, visual communications, information design, user experience, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, User Experience Design, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of typography, accessibility, and human-centered design.
• Ability to manage competing priorities with short deadlines and high attention to detail.
• Portfolio demonstrating branding, web/mobile interfaces, data visualizations, and visual storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Develop and iterate high-quality print and digital deliverables, including infographics, presentations, one-pagers, data visualizations, wireframes, reports, logos, newsletters, and other graphic products that meet client, brand, and end-user needs
• Turn complex information and data into clear, digestible, and engaging visual content
• Collaborate with designers, cross-functional teams, and clients to develop and refine visual deliverables
• Understand client objectives and requirements and develop clear creative solutions
• Apply design principles such as typography, hierarchy, and balance to create cohesive materials that align with client branding and messaging
• Ensure visual deliverables meet Section 508 compliance requirements and accessibility standards
• Develop and improve templates, design systems, and asset libraries to support brand consistency and efficiency across projects
• Support proposal design, business development initiatives, and client relationships
