Job summary

Marathon TS is seeking a Systems Engineer to support a newly awarded contract with the Department of Homeland Security (CBP) onsite in Ashburn, VA. You will design, implement, and optimize system solutions ensuring performance, reliability, and security across enterprise environments.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree in IT or Systems Engineering or have 8+ years in IT and security-focused roles, with an active CBP BI/Suitability clearance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in IT, Systems Engineering, or related field, or 8+ years in IT support.
• Strong understanding of systems integration, network systems and apps development.
• Familiarity with IT security standards, DHS relevance, and clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement system solutions that meet project specs and user requirements.
• Collaborate with IT and project management to translate specifications into functional requirements.
• Conduct system performance testing, assessment, and validation of software/hardware configurations.
• Identify and troubleshoot system issues to enhance availability and performance.
• Document system architecture designs, configurations and operational processes for compliance.
• Maintain network infrastructure standards and participate in planning and reviews for new infrastructure.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure systems comply with security standards and policies.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide insights on enhancements and issue resolution.
• Act as an enterprise technical consultant, providing training and support to IT staff as designated by the government.
• Provide on-call, off-hours, and weekend support for production issues as needed.
• Evaluate, test, and integrate customized hardware and peripheral devices (RFID, LPRs) into environments.
