Job summary

Rise8 is hiring a Software Engineer to deliver secure software for government programs. On a hybrid schedule, you’ll pair with client teams, drive TDD and agile practices, and ensure weekly delivery of valuable user stories. Expect DoD-related projects, stringent security, and collaboration across product, design, and engineering.

You will engage with clients on learning styles, feedback, and ubiquitous language while applying AI-augmented methods to speed delivery and reduce risk.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
• 3–6 years of software development in various languages.
• Strong communication skills in a pair-programming environment.
• Experience with TDD and agile methodologies.
• Experience with Spring Boot, React.JS, Vue or Redux.
• Frontend and backend development experience.
• Experience with container tech Docker/Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps tools (Git, CI, SonarQube, Fortify).
• API development experience and Linux deployment knowledge.
• BA/BS in CS or related field, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients new to design thinking and agile practices.
• Teach the why behind practices and adapt to client preferences.
• Learn client learning styles, feedback methods, and jargon.
• Continuously adapt approach to improve engineering outcomes.
• Pair with client developers to deliver user stories with business value.
• Develop and test software delivering reliable solutions weekly.
• Work with a balanced team to meet user needs and objectives.
• Champion AI-augmented workflows to accelerate delivery.
