Job summary

Afognak Native Corporation is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee ALMS safety programs and subcontracted work, ensuring compliance with safety standards for all employees on site.

The role includes conducting safety audits, incident investigations, maintaining records, and developing JSAs, training records, and environmental compliance documentation in accordance with OSHA and EPA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or applicable experience is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of technical safety management experience.
• Current state driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Basic computer skills including Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with OSHA and EPA regulations and government contracting terminology.
• Experience in accident investigation and reporting principles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ALMS safety programs and subcontracted work ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Perform safety audits, file reports timely, and maintain organized records.
• Investigate employee accidents and implement corrective actions.
• Support health services for injured employees and manage related documentation.
• Develop job safety analyses to support restricted duty assignments and procedures.
• Maintain training records and ensure compliance with environmental/safety training requirements.
• Conduct environmental compliance inspections and reviews for waste, air quality, and related programs.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure safe completion of tasks on schedule.
