Job summary

Sigma Defense Systems seeks an Application Developer to support NSWC Dahlgren Division programs, focusing on Java-based modernization, Oracle DB, TypeScript/Vue.js development, and Agile practices.

Responsibilities include modernizing legacy Java, developing Vue.js components, and ensuring DoD cybersecurity requirements are met while collaborating across government and development teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business, or technical discipline with 2+ years of technical experience.
• 2+ years of experience using Java.
• 2+ years of experience with NET/MVC, Angular, JavaScript, jQuery, and HTML5 is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience working with Git repositories.
• 2+ years of experience using IDEs such as Visual Studio, JDeveloper, NetBeans, or Eclipse.
• 2+ years of experience with Agile software development.
• Experience with Oracle databases.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modernize, and maintain mission-critical applications.
• Convert Java classes to TypeScript and develop Vue.js components.
• Support DoD environments and ensure security compliance.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams and participate in peer programming.
• Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and cutover plans.
