Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist Level 2 to support the VISTA (MT&E Team). This role develops ML, data mining, and graph-based algorithms to analyze complex datasets and evaluate models for production workflows.

You will partner with SMEs, software engineers, and cloud developers to translate mission needs into scalable analytic solutions, with a focus on production analytics and data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and R for data manipulation and algorithms.
• Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and regression analysis.
• Experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow and Scikit-Learn.
• Data wrangling and transforming complex datasets into usable formats.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and data visualization tools.
• BS or higher in a quantitative field with several years of analytics work.

Responsibilities

• Produce data visualizations to reveal dataset structure and meaning.
• Identify important information and develop extraction scripts from diverse data formats.
• Create feature vectors for analytic development and testing.
• Translate qualitative goals into quantitative software prototypes.
• Develop and apply statistical, ML, and heuristic analytics.
• Validate analytics with cross-validation, ROC curves, and confusion matrices.
• Collaborate with SMEs, software engineers, and cloud developers to productionize analytics.
