Job summary

VERSANT Media seeks a Security Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain Python-based automation that reduces manual security work. You will collaborate with security, platform, cloud, SOC, and engineering teams and contribute to GitHub Actions, Terraform, and AWS configurations to improve automation quality.

Ideal candidates will have solid Python skills, REST API experience, and a security-focused mindset, with a willingness to learn Terraform and practice secure AI-assisted

Qualifications

• Strong Python development and debugging skills with REST API work.
• Ability to read, modify, and improve scripts written by others.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and GitHub Actions workflows.
• Basic understanding of AWS services, IAM, networking, and IaC concepts.
• Willingness to learn Terraform through real repository work and document steps.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Python scripts, CLIs, API integrations, and scheduled jobs to reduce manual work.
• Write unit tests, logging, error handling, and concise documentation for safe operations.
• Create and maintain GitHub Actions workflows for linting, testing, scanning, packaging, and deployment.
• Read, update, and test Terraform modules and plans with guidance; learn in real projects.
• Collaborate with security, platform, cloud, SOC, and engineering teams to automate recurring problems.
