Job summary

Marlabs is seeking a Security Automation Engineer (Python) to design, build, and maintain production‑grade automation that strengthens security operations across enterprise environments. You will apply strong Python skills, cloud experience, and security tooling knowledge to create scalable data pipelines and integrations.

Day‑to‑day includes developing Python automation, integrating SAST/DAST, CNAPP/CSPM, SIEM, ITSM, and AWS services, plus CI/CD improvements and IaC practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Python development building production‑grade applications, automation frameworks, data pipelines, and API integrations.
• Strong experience with REST APIs including OAuth/token authentication, pagination, rate limiting, and integration of enterprise security platforms.
• Hands‑on expertise with AWS cloud services (Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, IAM, API Gateway).
• Proficiency with Terraform, Git, and GitHub Actions CI/CD for IaC and automated deployments.
• Working knowledge of application security concepts (OWASP Top 10, secure coding).
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python‑based automation solutions, data pipelines, API integrations, and reporting capabilities for security and cloud operations.
• Integrate security platforms (SAST, DAST, CNAPP/CSPM, SIEM, GRC, ITSM) using REST APIs.

As a Security Automation Engineer (Python), you are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining production-grade automation solutions that enhance security operations. You have strong Python development expertise, cloud engineering experience, and a solid understanding of security tooling, enabling you to develop scalable integrations, data pipelines, and AI-augmented workflows that improve operational efficiency across enterprise environments.

Security Automation Engineer (Python) | Day-to-Day

• Develop and maintain Python‑based automation solutions, data pipelines, API integrations, workflow orchestration, and reporting capabilities supporting security and cloud operations.
• Integrate and automate enterprise security platforms such as SAST, DAST, CNAPP/CSPM, SIEM, GRC, ITSM, secrets management, and ticketing systems using REST APIs.
• Build AI‑assisted workflows to automate security finding triage, classification, routing, and reporting while reducing manual effort through scalable automation.
• Deploy and support cloud‑native solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, IAM, and API Gateway.
• Maintain and improve existing automation frameworks through code refactoring, testing, documentation, CI/CD enhancements, and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
• Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate security and business requirements into reliable, maintainable, and scalable software solutions.

Security Automation Engineer (Python) | Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional Python development experience building production‑grade applications, automation frameworks, data pipelines, API integrations, and data processing solutions utilizing JSON, CSV, XML, YAML, and related technologies.
• Strong experience with REST APIs, including OAuth/token‑based authentication, pagination, rate limiting, retry logic, and integration of enterprise security and operational platforms.
• Hands‑on expertise with AWS cloud services, including Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, IAM, API Gateway, cloud networking, security best practices, and supporting production workloads.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Git, and GitHub Actions CI/CD, including Infrastructure as Code, automated deployments, testing frameworks, code reviews, pull requests, and collaborative development practices.
• Working knowledge of application security and cloud security concepts, including OWASP Top 10, secure coding practices, vulnerability management, IAM, network security, cloud security posture management, and enterprise security operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience), with excellent communication skills and experience working within security operations, IT operations, or enterprise‑scale technology environments.
