Security - Associate Vice President, Security Architecture
Our client is seeking an Associate Vice President, Security Architect who is passionate aboutinformationsecurity and protecting the firm with some of the most advanced and currenttoolsavailable. This position willbe foundational in leading, contributing and advancing the security engineering and operations functions within Ares Management. The ideal candidate will haveextensiveexperienceindesigningand implementing best in class security solutions.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate,design, select and implement new security tools and technologies,along withoperational processes.This includes preparing project plans and budgets
- Provide security consulting and design services to the business andgreaterIT team
- Optimize our existing security tools and processes
- Serve as a project leader for technical security projects
- Author system and operational documentation
- System management and administration of information security systems and tools
- Identification and development of critical alerts and signals for monitoring
- Consult with production operations, network engineering and corporateITon technical security issues
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk assessments and pan tests on our software, architecture and vendors
- Design and overseetheexecution of internal security testing methodologies and execution
- Perform securityinvestigations,and serve as an escalation point for technical security issues
- Supervise and mentor the security engineering team

Experience Required
- 3+ years professionalexperienceadministration of serverOperatingsystems:Windows and Unix/Linux
- 1-2 years professional experience with Cisco networks
- 5+ years professionalexperiencein dedicated information security role
- 3+ years professional experience in performing information security architecture/consulting
- Strongexperience with active directory and windows engineering
- Possessstrong knowledge of system, database and network security
- CISSP, CISA, CSSLP certifications a plus; Professional certification mandatory within 1 year
- Experiencewithcentral logging tools, methodologies and best practices
- Pastexperience in tools such as Nexpose,Bit9,CarbonBiack, PaloAilo, Fireamp, Access Data, Cylance, CyberArk, etc.
- Pastexperience in monitoringcentralizedlog collection and SIEM (IBM QRADAR a plus)
- Experience with standards frameworks such asISO27001,NIST800-30,NIST800-53
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, fluentinEnglish
- Well-developed analytic,qualitative,and quantitative reasoning skills and demonstrated creative problem solving abilities
- Strong organizational,operational, presentation, and process capabilities
- Strong work ethic and motivation.Abilitytodeal with fast-paced and stressful situations
- Must be able to work collaborativelyacrossdivisions and physical locations
- Familiarity with computer system hardware and software installation and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding ofsecurityprinciples, tools and processes
- This is a hands on role 50% architecture and 50% security administration, must be willingtoperform hands on work
- Experience working with internal and external auditors
Education/Certification
- BSComputerScience,Computer Engineering, Computer InformationSystems,Information Systems,ComputerSystemsEngineering, or equivalent education and experience.
