Job summary

Cardinal Health seeks a Director of Security Architecture to establish and lead the security architecture strategy, standards, and design practices enabling secure, scalable tech solutions. This role reports to the VP, Information Security & Risk and partners with business and technology leaders.

Responsibilities include governance, architecture reviews, and embedding security into the development lifecycle, while guiding technology investments and ensuring enterprise architecture alignment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cybersecurity or information security with enterprise architecture focus
• Proven leadership of security architecture strategy, standards, and governance
• Experience embedding security into development lifecycle and risk-informed decisions
• Strong knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and control mapping to business goals
• Professional certifications such as CISSP/CCSP/SABSA/TOGAF preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead enterprise security architecture strategy aligned with cybersecurity and risk management
• Define governance frameworks for secure design, technology selection, and deployment
• Collaborate with cybersecurity leaders and engineering teams to set target-state architecture and roadmap
• Advise leadership on security architecture priorities, risks, and investments
• Oversee architecture reviews, risk assessment, and exception handling processes
• Guide security-by-design and pre-implementation reviews across initiatives
• Optimize security tooling and integrate into broader cybersecurity ecosystem
• Define reference architectures and reusable security solutions for development teams
• Lead M&A cybersecurity strategy and integration planning
