Job summary

EchoStar is seeking a Director of Information Security Architecture to lead the enterprise security strategy across multi-cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments. You will define frameworks, establish safe architectural standards, and embed secure-by-design principles into complex systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in information security, cybersecurity architecture, and systems engineering, with cloud-native and enterprise focus.
• 7+ years of leadership experience managing senior technical personnel or architecture teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Security Strategy & Architecture: drive vision, strategy, and roadmap for enterprise information security across cloud, hybrid, and on-premise infrastructure.
• Embed Security-by-Design: establish security architecture standards, threat modeling, and safe design patterns for apps, infra, and third-party integrations.
• Oversee Technical Governance: define baselines, reference architectures, and zero-trust principles across enterprise systems and networks.
• Manage Security Architecture Escalations: provide leadership on high-severity incidents and architectural risk tradeoffs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with engineering, network ops, product dev, and IT leadership to integrate security controls into delivery pipelines.
• Vendor & Tooling Evaluation: evaluate and manage security technologies and vendors to address threats.
• Program Delivery & Compliance: ensure initiatives and compliance mapping are delivered on time, aligned with business objectives.
