Security Architects at GuidePoint Security are experienced professionals who are autonomous, self-driven security enthusiasts. Our Security Architects are involved in the complete security technologies opportunity lifecycle, from pre-sales through delivery, with the freedom to scope and deliver engagements as they see fit.

As both a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) and a professional services organization, our Security Architects continually expand their knowledge of the latest cutting-edge information security technologies to better serve our clients. This position is remote/virtual; however, candidates must reside locally within the Greater Chicago area and/or be willing to travel 75% of the time within our North Central territory.

Position Requirements:
  1. MUST be located in Chicago, IL and open to local/regional travel for customer/vendor partner events
  2. Minimum 5 years in an enterprise-level security consultative, vendor, or operational role building and assessing Information Security architectures and programs
  3. Proficiency in multiple security technologies, including: network security and architecture, NGFW, cloud security, Data Security, Vulnerability & Risk Management, Proxy, EDR, IAM, SIEM & Analytics
  4. A good listener to understand client issues and work collaboratively to provide solutions
  5. Proactively research and engage emerging vendors and technologies to address client challenges
  6. Excellent soft skills with the ability to articulate complex technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences
  7. Proactively work to mature the business, including enhancing existing offerings and creating new ones
  8. Author comprehensive business and technical collateral tailored to technical and managerial audiences
  9. Work remotely when not visiting client locations or attending meetings
  10. Travel within the Chicago metro area is expected
  11. Role split: 70% Presales, 30% Delivery
Technical Requirements:
  1. Deep proficiency in multiple security technologies, including network security, NGFW, cloud security, DLP, CASB, Proxy, IAM, SIEM/Analytics, etc.
  2. Expertise in architecting and designing enterprise-scale security solutions
  3. Strong networking and security troubleshooting skills
  4. Proficiency with various client and server OS (Windows, Nix, OSX, etc.)
  5. Knowledge of advanced security concepts (Zero Trust, Defense in Depth, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience with security technologies such as Symantec DLP, ForeScout, Palo Alto, Check Point, CrowdStrike, Splunk, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  2. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  3. 5+ years of security engineering experience or as a technical lead in an internal security program
  4. Pre-sales experience is highly preferred
