Job summary

NextPath Workforce Solutions is seeking a Security Architect to join our client’s team in Washington, DC on a hybrid, direct hire basis. The role emphasizes designing Azure-based security architectures and implementing advanced threat protections.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in cloud computing and cloud security.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft security and infrastructure stack.
• Knowledge of Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, Azure AD and Azure Firewall.
• Familiarity with ZIA and ZPA.
• Knowledge of Defender suite including Defender for Endpoint/Cloud/Office 365.
• Security certifications such as CISSP/CCSP or Azure Cloud Security preferred.
• Experience with automating security controls and scripting (PowerShell, Python).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security architectures focusing on Azure environments.
• Develop security documentation and best practices.
• Optimize solutions for secure web gateways, zero trust, and cloud security posture.
• Collaborate with IT, security and business teams to align security with objectives.
• Assist in security troubleshooting and analysis.
• Work with Cyber Risk and Operations to address vulnerabilities.
• Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
• Stay current on emerging threats and trends to improve security posture.

NextPath Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Security Architect to join our client’s team in Washington, DC. This is a hybrid,direct hire position.

SALARY:

$200,000-275,000 (depending on experience).

REQUIREMENTS:

• Deep expertise in cloud computing and cloud security.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft security and infrastructure stack.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Security Services, including Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, Azure AD, and Azure Firewall.
• Familiarity with Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Defender suite, including Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, and Defender for Office 365.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or Azure Cloud Security certifications are preferred.
• Experience with automating security controls and scripting (PowerShell, Python, etc.) is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and implement security architectures focusing on Microsoft Azure environments and integrating full security toolsets.
• Develop security documentation and best practices to safeguard enterprise assets and data.
• Optimize solutions for secure web gateways, zero trust access, cloud security posture management, and data protection.
• Collaborate with IT, security, and business teams to align security measures with business objectives while managing risks.
• Assist in security troubleshooting and analysis efforts.
• Work with Cyber Risk and Operations teams to address vulnerabilities identified in security assessments.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
• Keep current on emerging security threats, technologies, and trends to enhance security posture.
