Security and Fire Alarm Technician/Installer

The “Security Systems Technician” position involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of security systems for commercial, medical, governmental, and private clients. This role requires a high level of technical skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • The “Security Systems Technician” position may include training and supervising junior technicians in the installation and maintenance of security systems. It may also involve collaboration with other departments within the company, such as sales and design, to achieve common goals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Installation and configuration of CCTV, access control, fire alarm systems, and other components of security systems according to client requirements and safety standards.
  • Conducting technical site surveys to determine the most effective solutions for equipment placement.
  • Connecting and configuring network equipment to ensure communication between different components of the security system.
  • Testing and verifying the proper functioning of installed equipment and software before project completion.
  • Providing instructions to clients on the use and maintenance of security systems, as well as addressing their technical inquiries and issues.
  • Documentation of installation and maintenance activities, including reports on work performed and material costs.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge and understanding of security system operations, including CCTV, access control, fire alarm systems, etc.
  • Ability to quickly identify and resolve issues during installation and servicing of security systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and coworkers, explaining complex technical issues.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in the installation, configuration, or servicing of security systems is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting and carrying heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces during equipment installation.
