Job summary

Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions seeks a skilled Security Analyst II to grow and operate the agency's IT Security Program. You will manage security design, monitoring, and incident response across networks, servers, storage, apps, databases, and endpoints. Lead projects implementing new controls and contribute to policies and guidelines.

The role requires hands-on expertise, strong communication, and the ability to work independently or lead others in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

4–7 years IT security experience required.
Strong attention to detail is essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform IT security risk assessments and develop remediation strategies.
Research vendor offerings and conduct proof of concepts.
Coordinate with teams to implement new technologies and remediate issues.
Monitor asset inventory, installed agents, and device status.
Review vulnerability dashboards and assess threat landscape impact.
Monitor data inventories and policy violations; produce reports and metrics.
Draft policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines on IT security and compliance.
Monitor and process incident response queues.
Manage endpoint firewall operations and adjustments as needed.
Work independently and within a team environment.
