Job summary

ONE Gas, Inc. seeks a security operations professional to monitor, triage and diagnose security events within the company environment. You will escalate issues, coordinate with stakeholders, and implement security infrastructure changes to protect information assets.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or related fields and up to two years of relevant experience, with knowledge of AD, networking and security administration, and strong English communication skills.

• Ability to investigate, assess, identify, research and remediate security issues.
• Experience in creating SOC procedures, reports and documentation.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Job description

Provide incident monitoring (impacting one user/small group) related to security infrastructure and support and perform tasks necessary to ensure timely remediation for protection of information assets.

Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor, triage, and diagnose security events as part of a security operations center.
• Escalate security events within the ONE Gas environment. Support the coordination of appropriate stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve.
• Complete tasks assigned in order to accomplish approved security infrastructure and security configuration changes.
• Collaborate with other IT and security personnel on security technology and support issues.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
• Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, MIS, Computer Science, or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and additional work experience. (Typically, one and a half to two years of relevant experience is equivalent to one year of formal education.)

Experience

• In addition to education, this role typically calls for up to two years of relevant professional experience.
• Working knowledge of current security technologies.
• Working knowledge of supporting the following:
• Desktop/laptop hardware, operating system and endpoint applications
• Knowledge of Active Directory, permission hierarchy and group policy management
• Event monitoring, logging and alert correlation techniques for system and network logs
• Experience with the application of arithmetic and computer math.
• Experience or training relative to:
• Operating systems software
• Computer hardware
• Networking
• Communications
• Security administration
• Customer Service
• Knowledge regarding how to investigate, assess, identify, research and remediate security issues and perform risk and vulnerability assessments.
• Demonstrated ability to research, prepare, and compose security operations center (SOC) procedures and documentation, reports and correspondence.
• Demonstrated ability to interact, advise, guide, train and communicate effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English

Licenses and Certifications

Preferred applicable driver’s license

Preferred Comp TIA A+, Network+, or Security+ Certifications

Additional Requirements

• Mobility to travel in and around office facilities system wide.
• Communicate and/or exchange information or instructions.
• Visual ability sufficient to perform job duties.
