$28.00/hr - $38.00/hr

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Security Systems Technician to join our federal team supporting Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, OK. This role may support other nearby bases as needed. Our team is responsible for maintenance, service, and sustainment of Electronic Security Systems, mainly working with Vindicator and Advantor systems.

Johnson Controls supports critical facilities, their occupants, and the missions they enable. Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) modernizes military installations, DoD, and federal agency facilities to be smarter, resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure.

Location: Tinker Air Force Base, with occasional support at other bases in the area.
Schedule: Primarily day shift (8:00 am – 4:00 pm), Monday-Friday.
Pay Range: $28.00 - $38.00/hr, negotiable based on experience.
Benefits: Available from first day.
Vacation: 3 weeks paid, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, 10 holidays (total 6.5 weeks).
Travel: 10-20%, mostly local.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service existing Electronic Security Systems, including access controls, intrusion detection, and cameras (primarily Vindicator and Advantor).
• Install security devices and infrastructure per plans and codes.
• Assist with system programming and setup.
• Test equipment post-installation or repair.
• Test system signals to establish service.
• Coordinate with emergency services and maintain records.
• Assist with estimates as directed.
• Conduct end-user training.
• Work safely, responsibly, and clean up after installations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing low-voltage security systems (intrusion, access, CCTV, recording).
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, manuals, and schematics.
• Effective communication skills.
• Use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Work independently and in teams.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Active or recent Department of Defense Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Vindicator or Advantor systems.
• Technical skills with fiber optics and networks.
• Experience with various camera systems, including Lenel and Advantor.

Preferred Education

• Vindicator certification.
