The Security Alarm Monitoring Site Lead supports and oversees 24/7 operations at a high-security facility. Responsibilities include active surveillance, access control monitoring, and communications management supporting Norfolk Naval Shipyard/Naval Sea Systems Alarm Monitoring Point (AMP) security mission. Candidates must demonstrate technical proficiency, attention to detail, and emotional composure under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of Security Alarm Monitoring Specialists.
  • Manage daily shift scheduling and ensure continuous 24/7 coverage (minimum of 2 personnel per shift).
  • Ensure all team members comply with SOPs, security protocols, and mission requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison with the Government Technical Point of Contact (TPOC).
  • Communicate and report personnel issues, schedule disruptions, or operational risks to the TPOC.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing procedures that enhance site security and operational efficiency.
  • Operate and monitor IDS, CCTV, and AACS systems.
  • Assess alarms and coordinate emergency or security responses via RDC.
  • Verify clearance status and authorize entry using access lists.
  • Maintain logs of all alarm activities, surveillance checks, and communications.
  • Respond professionally to calls and direct to RDC as needed.
  • Operate communications equipment and office technology.
  • Maintain documentation and prepare supply requisitions.
  • Provide guidance to individuals denied access and escalate unresolved issues.
  • Support security incidents and manage area load lists.
  • Maintain consistent attendance, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years’ experience in alarm monitoring, security, military operations center, emergency communications, or similar.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Availability for rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and monitoring software.
  • Ability to assess situations and make timely decisions under pressure.
  • Skilled in operating alarm systems, radios, and office tech.
  • Experience supervising personnel and managing operations.
  • Strong judgment and escalation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism.
  • Ability to remain alert and accurate in dynamic scenarios.
  • Skilled in IDS, CCTV, AACS, and office technologies.
