Security Advocate - Application Security

New York, USA, Remote

We are a team of engineers that translate our real world experience to help our user communities solve problems. With a focus on Application Security, you will leverage both your engineering and storytelling skills to educate and empower our user communities. You will have the opportunity to meet key leaders across the industry, and broaden your impact to the Cloud and Security community at large.

What You’ll Do :

  • Create content in one or more modes to build Datadog's reputation as a leader in DevOps, Monitoring, Observability and Security e.g. building demos, public speaking, blogging, documentation, webinars, open source, research papers and more
  • Doggedly pursue excellence in our products to shape the direction of the portfolio
  • Collaborate with our community of open-source contributors on projects like Stratus Red Team, GuardDog, and more
  • Discover and demonstrate new attack and defense techniques that apply to all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Work across the Datadog organization to help mentor and develop other security stories

Who You Are :

  • A software developer, SRE, or other engineering practitioner
  • You are comfortable and familiar with modern infrastructure cloud, containers, kubernetes, serverless etc
  • You have interest and familiarity with security best practices (e.g. familiarity with OWASP Top 10 attack suite and the ability to demonstrate attack and defense for one or more threat scenarios)
  • Experience in storytelling and creating content, including public samples of your work e.g. written content, conference talks, leading workshops, live streaming or recording videos, contributing to open source, and participating in community events. Note : this could currently be a side hobby / passion
  • You enjoy self-driven exploration and education on new technologies and can transform dry technical topics into engaging, informative and interesting educational materials
  • You have participated in IAC (Infrastructure as code) deployments of software on one or more cloud providers
  • You have extensive knowledge of Application Security and have worked to scale programs like security champions or developer education
  • Familiarity with modern full stack security solutions like WAF, RASP, etc
