Mohawk Industries, a Fortune 500 global flooring leader, is seeking a Security Administrator to support secure IT operations across a large, dispersed business community. You will review security architectures, resolve vulnerabilities, and help enforce security standards while collaborating with IT teams.

We value hands-on experience with security technologies, strong problem-solving, and relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 2-4 years' relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Preferred 1-3 years of IT security experience.
  • Must have certified expertise in Windows Active Directory or Cisco Networking.
  • SSCP, GIAC or CISSP security certification is desired.
  • Project management skills are considered a plus.
  • Security +, MCSE or CCNP certification is required.
  • Developing technical knowledge with hands-on experience managing systems development in new computing architectures and environments.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assist in implementing network and system security architectures.
  • Identify and resolve potential security breaches and vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure acceptable best practices for information security are identified and integrated into network and system designs and implementations.
  • Maintain and configure security systems, e.g., intrusion prevention systems, firewalls, VPNs, antivirus, encryption, vulnerability scanning.
  • Assist with security standards and policies, working with engineers to ensure proper implementation.
  • Assist in evaluating, planning, and implementing new security systems, tools, processes, or procedures.
  • Assist with monitoring, reporting, and responding to security incidents.
  • Create and retain an audit trail for all changes and provide second level support for difficult security problems.

The Security Administrator is an established performer that works to facilitate and support IT functions and projects to resolve a wide range of IT issues. This role will be responsible for providing security services for a large, geographically dispersed business community by ensuring the secure operation of in-house computer systems, servers, and network connections.

What you'll do:
  • Review and assist in implementing network and system security architectures.
  • Identify and resolve potential security breaches and vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure acceptable best practices for information security are identified and integrated into network and system designs and implementations.
  • Maintain and configure security systems, e.g., network and host-based Intrusion Prevention Systems, firewalls, VPN connections, antivirus protection, malicious code defense, encryption, vulnerability scanning, and other security technologies.
  • Assist with security and authentication standards and policies, working with Network, Operations, and Applications engineers to ensure proper implementation.
  • Assist in evaluating, planning, and implementing new security systems, tools, processes, or procedures.
  • Assist with monitoring, reporting, and responding to security incidents, both intrusive and non-intrusive.
  • Ensure proper documentation through internal change control process. Generate access reporting on all supported systems.
  • Work on projects and assignments as part of a large work team.
  • Create and retain an audit trail for all changes made.
  • Use verbal and written communications to demonstrate a customer-focused attitude when dealing with customers.
  • Escalate security related issues as appropriate to the attention of IS Management to avoid or minimize business impact.
  • Perform accurate analyses, conduct research, and draw meaningful conclusions about potential job/work-area impacts.
  • Provide second level support to resolve security problems that are especially difficult to diagnose, such as intermittent problems or problems involving advanced networking issues.
  • Work closely with IT Management, Support Center personnel, and other IT technical and applications staff.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
What you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
